The name gives away its shape, but not what’s happening beneath the surface. The
E-Stim Systems Torpedo Electro Buttplug is a bipolar metal electrode with a strikingly curved head, a narrower neck, and two electrical contact areas in a single plug. You can choose between
Small, with a diameter of 38 mm, and the significantly fuller
Large, at 50 mm. The same Torpedo technology, but two distinctly different weight classes.
Both variants belong to the well-known Torpedo Family from E-Stim Systems. In this series, a large portion of the mass is concentrated in the rounded head, while the narrower neck helps keep the electrode in place once inserted. The two electrical contacts are located above and below rather than next to each other. This creates a bipolar electrode that can form a complete electrical circuit on its own when both 4 mm connectors are properly connected to a single compatible channel.
Torpedo Family: Start Small, End Big
E-Stim Systems has now built an entire family around the Torpedo design. The series starts with the
Small Torpedoand extends through the Large and Stuffer models to impressive heavyweights such as the OMG and Decimator.
The models share the same basic concept: a contoured metal head in which a large portion of the weight is concentrated, followed by a narrower shaft and a practical base. As you move up within the family, the diameter, length, and mass increase significantly.
The Small and Large models form an interesting pair. They differ by only 5 mm in total length, but the difference in diameter and weight is considerably greater. So this isn’t simply the same toy in two nearly identical sizes.
Small Torpedo – Ø 38 mm and 334 grams
The
E-Stim Systems Small Torpedo has a diameter of
38 mm and a total length of approximately
130 mm. Of that, about
100 mm is insertable. It weighs 334 grams.
This makes the Small the most compact option in the Torpedo series. The head already features the characteristic curved profile of its larger counterparts, but remains noticeably slimmer than the Large.
The combination of a wider head and a narrower neck gives the model its distinctive silhouette. Once inserted, the neck helps keep the plug in place, while the contoured base provides a secure grip during handling.
Large Torpedo – Ø 50 mm and 555 grams
Those specifically looking for more volume will find what they need in the E-Stim Systems Large Torpedo. The diameter increases to 50 mm, and the total length is approximately 135 mm. Of that, about
115 mm is insertable.
The weight, in particular, makes it clear just how much extra metal you’re holding. The Large weighs
555 grams, over 220 grams more than the Small.
Those numbers really tell the story perfectly: the Small is 38 mm and 334 grams, while the Large is 50 mm and 555 grams. It’s only a half-centimeter difference in total length, but the Torpedo has shifted significantly in weight class. So the name “Large” here is definitely not just a marketing department getting a little too enthusiastic.
Which Torpedo should you choose?
The most important difference between the two variants is the diameter. At
38 mm, the Small offers a considerably more modest size than the
50 mm-wide Large.
The Small also has an insertable length of 100 mm, compared to 115 mm for the Large. The extra weight of the Large is also noticeable: 555 versus 334 grams.
If you don’t yet have experience with a 50-mm-diameter metal insertable, it’s wise not to rely solely on the product’s name. Choose a size that matches your experience, and never use force when inserting it. A Torpedo may sound like it needs to be launched, but with this model, maneuvering slowly is a much better plan.
Bipolar: two contacts in the same plug
Both the Small and Large models are
bipolar e-stim electrodes. This means that both electrical poles are integrated into the same plug. A separate second electrode is therefore not necessary.
A distinctive feature of E-Stim Systems’ premium insertables is the position of the contacts. These are located
above and below rather than directly next to each other. The metal head forms one contact area and the lower section the other.
According to E-Stim Systems, this top-bottom design allows movement of the electrode to have a greater impact on the electrical sensation. It is a design principle found in virtually the entire Torpedo Family.
Two recessed 4 mm connectors
The base features
two heavy-duty 4 mm sockets. To use it with an E-Stim Systems power box, you’ll need a compatible cable with two 4 mm plugs. This cable is
not included.
You can use a standard E-Stim 4 mm cable. E-Stim Systems also recommends the
4 mm Low Profile Cable when you want as little of the connector as possible to protrude from the plug. This can be particularly practical when the electrode remains in place for an extended period.
Metal with a Satin Finish
E-Stim Systems manufactures the Small and Large Torpedo models in its own workshop in the United Kingdom using high-quality, aircraft-grade materials. The current Torpedo models are available with the characteristic
Satin Finish; for the Large model, E-Stim also offers a polished version.
The metal construction gives both models a sturdy appearance and allows for thorough cleaning. With proper maintenance, E-Stim Systems states that these electrodes can last for years.
This is reflected in the warranty: the Torpedo electrodes are covered by
E-Stim Systems’ lifetime warranty for the original purchaser, subject to the manufacturer’s terms and conditions.
Water-based lubricant for use and conductivity
E-Stim Systems recommends using a
water-based lubricant with the Torpedo, such as its own ElectroGel. This helps ensure smooth insertion while also supporting good electrical contact.
The manufacturer advises against using silicone-based or hybrid lubricants with these electrodes. E-Stim Systems also does not recommend using condoms in combination with the electrode.
Take your time when inserting the electrode, especially with the 50 mm “Large” size. Never force the electrode and stop immediately if use feels painful, sharp, or clearly uncomfortable.
Safe Connection and Gradual Intensity Build-Up
Turn off the power box before connecting the Torpedo. Insert both 4 mm connectors fully into the ports on the base and check the connection before activating the controller.
Always start at the lowest intensity and build up slowly. Use electrostimulation in accordance with E-Stim Systems’ safety instructions and avoid applications around the head and neck, as well as current paths through the chest area.
Do not use e-stim during pregnancy, if you have epilepsy, a heart condition, or an electronic implant such as a pacemaker or insulin pump. If you have any medical concerns, consult a doctor beforehand.
Dismountable for thorough cleaning
Both the Small and Large models can
be completely disassembled for cleaning. First, turn off the power box, remove the cable, and carefully take the electrode apart.
E-Stim Systems recommends mild, fragrance-free soap, a suitable toy cleaner, or a cleaning solution designed for this purpose. Clean all surfaces, seams, and grooves thoroughly and rinse away any remaining cleaning solution completely. Do not use alkaline or corrosive cleaning products.
For additional disinfection, the electrode can be wiped down with 70% isopropyl alcohol. According to the manufacturer, the metal parts can also be boiled or steam-sterilized, although this may cause slight discoloration. Allow everything to dry completely before reassembling the Torpedo.
After cleaning, the electrode can be returned to the included
reusable protective sleeve.
