How do I care for my leather clothing and my leather BDSM toys?
Leather is a true natural product and reacts to environmental conditions such as heat, cold, moisture and dryness. Leather bdsm toys and leather fetish clothing has to do with this too, of course. Think about fluctuations in your body temperature and perspiration. If you don't take good care of your leather products you will notice that they become matt and brittle. Eventually the leather can even become hard and break. A great shame of course!
We have put together the following tips so you can enjoy your beautiful clothes and toys for years to come:
- Please use a soft, damp cloth with a mild soap for small stains and soiling
- For stubborn stains we recommend a special leather cleaner. This can often be purchased in stores that offer horse riding equipment.
- Never use aggressive cleaners, such as benzene or alcohol. They damage the surface of the leather.
- Don't immediately hang clothes that you have worn in the closet but let them hang on a hanger in the bedroom for a day to air and dry. This way you avoid any chance of mold forming. For the same reason never store leather clothing in plastic bags.
- avoid heat and prolonged exposure to the sun
- rub the leather from time to time with a normally available (again: horse stores are a good place) leather care product.
